The National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum announces the 2026 Black History Month video series, which this year focuses on Abolition. Beginning February 1st, ten videos will address the Abolition movement in the United States and globally, including the role of women, the development of the Underground Railroad, the role of religion in Abolition, and the afterlives of slavery that exist today.
These videos are intended for a wide audience, and have been viewed by individuals and used in classrooms since the series was initiated in 2021. Videos will be released two per week throughout the month of February on the National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/@AbolitionHallofFame, and can also be accessed through the NAHOF website along with a listing of titles and dates, and links to videos from prior years. The Black History Matters series was founded in conjunction with the Upstate Institute at Colgate University. Founded in 2004, The National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum honors American abolitionists, and is open to the public May-September. Year-round, The NAHOF website provides a range of resources to support its mission which, “Honors antislavery abolitionists, their work to end slavery, and the legacy of that struggle, and strives to complete the second and ongoing abolition- the moral conviction to end racism”.
